About the role
Reporting to the Australian CFO, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Accounting Manager to join our firm. Working with the practice heads, partners, lawyers and support staff across Australia. This role presents a great opportunity for someone to take carriage of the Client Accounting function, undertake day to day transactions, build relationships, and drive improvements and initiatives while working in a fast paced environment.
This opportunity is based in our Melbourne office on a full-time basis.
What does the role involve
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the client accounting team in Australia.
- Assist in driving efficiency in the local operation from time recording to billing and from matter set up to closing matters.
- Oversee direction of client accounting locally, be aware of trends in processing, market and technology in the area as well as be on top of current and proposed legislation which could impact.
- Assist with trust and controlled money processing, control and audit.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a senior client accounting or business analyst role in the legal services industry.

The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified, hold a CPA or CA qualification, have proven experience across all aspects of client accounting, with recent experience integrating, upgrading and/or implementing legal practice management systems.
You will be experienced in supervising and managing the client accounting function in the legal industry, have strong client facing skills along with excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical business users.
You will possess strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills with experience in training and coaching of staff. In addition you will have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain solid business partnerships and experience with legal industry payment and processing platforms.
