About the role

Alcohol Beverages Australia (ABA) is looking for a full-time Marketing Officer and Office Manager to add value to our business and ensure the office runs smoothly.

You will support the Media and Communications Manager by creating newsletters, media releases and infographics, so you will need a good working knowledge of the Adobe Suite.  

You will also manage the day-to-day office, including managing inventory, office upkeep, asset management, coordinating with external vendors, and organising meetings.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Supporting the Media and Communications Manager to organise various projects
  • Taking results from statistics and industry information to produce marketing collateral, such as infographics that can be used in a variety of ways
  • Assisting in the organising of stakeholder events and ensuring their success
  • Preparing presentations
  • Assisting with the development of online content, posting online content on the organisation's website and social media accounts
  • Providing 'first draft' marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc) to augment the organisation's presence in the media
  • Communicating directly with membership and encouraging trusting relationships
  • Maintenance of general office and technology administration
  • Undertaking daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the organisation's activities
  • Maintenance of spreadsheets, databases and inventories with statistical, financial and non-financial information.

 

Secondary responsibilities

  • Managing overflow of workload from ABA Senior Executives
  • Assist ABA Senior Executives in the delivery of the strategic plan of the Association and regular reporting against its work-plan

Skills and experience

  • Strong organisational skills
  • Outstanding communication skills demonstrated by an ability to express ideas and concepts clearly in writing and orally
  • Strong design eye and attention to detail
  • Ability to prepare materials collegiately and in a time-constrained manner
  • Experience in working autonomously and as part of a small team
  • Experience with Adobe suite
  • Experience with mailchimp and newsletter platforms
  • Social media skills an advantage
  • Interest in Australian political and media environment
  • A good sense of humour
