Operations Manager - Commercial & Industrial Waste

The Operations Manager Commercial & Industrial is responsible for planning, directing and co-ordinating the operations of the NSW commercial & Industrial group; improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the department while driving innovation and continuous improvement of customer relations and service levels.

The job

  • Provide leadership to the allocations and driver teams with a key focus on continuous improvement of fleet efficiency, reliability and safety.
  • Identify, understand and create solutions that meet customer needs and service performance levels, working closely with the sales team to achieve organizational goals
  • Coordinate and communicate regular reporting and data analysis that informs decision making and the continuous improvement program
  • Take a proactive approach to collaborate with IT on innovations that enhance the capability of the C&I service.
  • Implement new technologies that advance our position as an industry leader and improve our service offerings.
  • Help drive national best practice through analysis and communication of key performance metrics and benchmarking
  • Lead delivery of the continuous improvement program, working collaboratively with all involved parties.
  • Actively participate as a member of the C&I team in all meetings, training and activities.
  • Drive engagement amongst employees by inspiring, motivating and empowering the Bingo team.
  • Set and drive high standards; championing a culture of collaboration and cooperation with colleagues and being a vocal advocate for standardization.
  • Ensure development of others through knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contribute to and uphold the Bingo Industries values, purpose and strategic plan, taking a leadership role in the translation of these into day to day operations.
  • Drive a culture of delivering customer and shareholder value.
  • Actively participate in the Performance review process.

What you bring

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an Operational Management role
  • Proven experience in effective team leadership and employee engagement
  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of waste and/or transport management systems requirements
  • Proven proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of relevant legislation and the associated legal obligations, particularly related to waste management and/or transport
  • Experience in risk and incident management
