Senior Financial Accountant - A&NZ - Contract to Permanent

CBD Location, Industry Market Leader, Global Corporate.Purpose
 
To enhance compliance with financial control policies, and leverage process and system optimisation opportunities to deliver consolidated financial reporting.
 
Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Financial Control policies – Ensure compliance financial control policies.  Design and implement plans to enhance and test controls and better protect the organisation. Report on compliance to stakeholders;
• Continuous improvement projects – Support ongoing implementation of a new system for reporting financial results to the Corporate Centre;
• Solvency II: Reporting – Produce reporting necessary for management review and approval of Solvency II submissions, including the quarterly and annual CFO Declarations;
• Consolidated financial reporting – Produce consolidated financial results as needed, including for quarterly Finance Director declarations, Forecast Close, Three-Year Plan and Finance Board Reports;
• Statutory financial reporting – Support delivery of all statutory financial statements;
• Capital Management reporting – Support delivery of capital management metrics including detailed analysis on Solvency, Liquidity, Debt Metrics, Risk Adjusted Profit (RAP) & Return on Capital Employed (ROCE);
• Technical accounting – Support the implementation of new accounting standards;
• External audit – Assist in managing the year-end, half-year and interim audit processes. 

 
Academic/ professional qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification

 
Ideal experience & delivered performance

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting, external audit or accounting advisory role;
• Experience in financial reporting for a large corporate group;
• Strong understanding of finance controls and policy frameworks;
• Strong understanding of consolidation accounting and reporting;
• Strong understanding of audit processes;
• Track record of meeting reporting deadlines;
• Excellent time management skills and a positive attitude to work.
