The Role:
 
Working as part of the Rendering team, you will be responsible for ensuring all production processes are performed in the “Rendering operation” from coordinating with production planning across all proteins for best practice product preparation to final product load out, in accordance with the quality management system, while production targets are maintained.  This role is also responsible for the supervision of production employees when directed in accordance with their knowledge and abilities ensuring that they are following work safe and quality procedures.  There is the need for flexibility in this role as our operation is depended on environmental conditions, mainly night shift applies.
 
 
Duties: 

  • Improve processes and efficiency by analysing current production requirements and implementing improvements in consultation with the Operations Manager
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests
  • Administration duties including, but not limited to, daily production recording, checking daily monitoring and shift reports, logistics of daily production- coordinating loadouts
  • Ensure the quality and suitability of raw material entering the process meets quality and quantity requirements
  • Ensure production quality meets customer specification of product on a right first-time basis

 
Skills Knowledge and Experience Requirements: 

  • Extensive transport operations experience
  • Previous experience in FMCG highly regarded
  • Local and international freight forwarding, and transport market knowledge preferred
  • Minimum two years previous rendering production experience
  • ARA Hygienic Rendering course preferred but not essential
  • Current Forklift License
  • GMP & HACCP Training
  • Team orientated attitude with leadership qualities
  • High degree of accuracy and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Intimate operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule
  • Mechanically minded assisting in faulty finding and engineering solution within the scope of the role, and in collaboration with maintenance personnel
