About us

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Justice sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.

About the role

Purpose of the role is to Coordinate and facilitate the Classification and Placement processes, policy and procedures to achieve the appropriate, efficient and effective placement of inmates state wide.

Duties will include

  • Coordinate and participate in the operations of the Classification and Placement process in a custodial environment.
  • Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on the full scope of Inmate Classification and Placement Procedures.
  • Generate reports; identify inmates to be transferred, complete required checks and documentation.
  • Review and monitor records of inmate numbers & population mix.
  • Certain elements of the training will be conducted in Sydney, NSW and your attendance will be required.

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply current legislation, policies and procedures in respect to the classification, reception, screening, induction and movements of inmates.
  • Understanding of contemporary corrections issues and priorities.
  • Current and valid driving licence and willingness to travel within NSW.
