Our client, a Government agency based in Toowoomba, is seeking an experienced Drainer (General Industrial) to commence in a temporary position till Friday 20th December 2019. Hours 7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
The Drainer position will be responsible for installing and maintaining sewerage or effluent disposal systems.
This position will work under general direction
What you are required to have for the position:
Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the role:
Possession of ‘Mandatory Qualifications/Licences’, including:
Current Queensland Plumber/Drainer Licence or Drainer Qualification.
Current “MR” Class Licence (vehicles more than 8t GVM with no more than 2 axles with or without trailer of 9t GVM).
WH&S Competency Card for CPCCOSH1001A - Work Safely in the Construction Industry or 30215QLD – Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) or the ability to obtain this card before commencement.
Possession of desirable qualifications/licences, including:
A competency certificate in traffic control;
A competency certificate in quick cut saw;
A competency certificate in environmental awareness; and
A competency certificate in confine space entry.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
Working at Heights & Confined Spaces
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Demonstrated ability to understand directions and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in domestic, commercial and industrial sewer works.

Perform a broad range of civil construction and maintenance tasks with principal duties related to municipal works.
Performing a range of drainage and general labouring duties, as required.
Preparing and maintaining the work site both prior to commencement of works and after the completion.

Maintaining a safe workplace and work procedures for the safety of both other team members and the general public, in accordance with workplace health and safety guidelines.
Maintaining effective communications with other team members, team leaders and senior officers to provide an open and free flow of information within Council.
