Finance Manager (PART-TIME)

An opportunity exists for a qualified Accountant or a person holding a relevant degree in Accounting or Finance and CA/CPA to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania located at our Base in Western Junction.

This role will report to the CEO and the successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day financial operations along with providing support to program managers to achieve the financial and strategic goals of RFDS Tasmania.

This role involves financial duties and an individual who can make a difference:

Some duties will include:

• Monthly profit and loss and cash flow reporting including bank reconciliations and general journal entries;
• Preparation and lodgement of quarterly BAS, annual FBT return, monthly PAYG;
• Monthly reconciliation of investments, bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Coding and review of all accounts payable invoices.
• Preparation of papers for Board, Finance, Risk & Investment Committee (F, R & I);
• Taking of minutes for F, R & I committee;
• Monthly review of budgets with Program managers;
• Review of yearly service plans for Program delivery;
• Business case analysis, input / assistance with briefing papers and financial documentation.
• Review and approval of fortnightly payroll processing by Victorian Section;

To be successful you need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

• A relevant degree in Accounting or Finance and CA/CPA qualified or currently pursuing;
• Minimum 5 years commercial accounting experience;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and respond to multiple stakeholder requests.
• Proficient in the use of Accounting Systems and Microsoft Office with experience using Technology One will be considered an advantage.
