Communications and Administration Assistant

Description of the role: 

The Communications Administration Assistant will assist the Communications & Community Relations Department to produce, deliver and maintain the Communications strategy and day-to-day operations of the Department.  The role will encompass duties such as updating social media platforms at a professional level, maintaining content on the website, maintenance of the photo library, updating internal TV screens content and administration duties as required. It requires attendance at internal/external events and activities to capture photographs. The Communications Administration Assistant is also active in communicating to Old Scholars, assisting with the newly established Old Scholar program in collaboration with the Communications & Community Relations Coordinator.

Key Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Assist with creating and maintaining social media content across all social platforms
  • Assist with the maintenance of the College website
  • Photograph events and activities and maintain the photographic archive
  • Assist with creating and maintaining content for the internal TV screens
  • In conjunction with the Communications & Community Relations Coordinator and Senior Publications Officer, collate content, proof read and deliver the weekly newsletter/e-newsletter
  • Assist with College events when required
  • Adhere toand oversee the Colleges corporate identity
  • Assist in the development of the Old Scholar program including organising reunions, networking events and collating content for the Maroon & Blue Community Newsletter
  • Build a social media presence for Old Scholars utilising the Colleges social platforms
  • Update the Old Scholar database
  • Assist Registrar with enrolment data entry
  • Some out of hours work may be required
  • Assist with the compilation of the annual Yearbook

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Marketing
  • Experience in working in a Marketing and Communications administration role
  • Experience in developing content for social media platforms
  • Some experience in photography
