About us
The School of Molecular and Life Sciences is a combination of studies in environment, agriculture, chemistry, molecular biosciences and food science. Courses are supported by research-led teaching and are dedicated to creating graduates with industry experience.
Teaching and Learning
Conduct learning activities online, distributed or face-to-face as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning.
Demonstrate a commitment to and promote in others, ongoing reflective improvement in teaching.
Conduct tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and student field excursions that stimulate and foster student learning.
Develop pedagogically innovative curriculum at faculty and/or school level.
Assess and provide feedback on learning to students
Supervise the program of study of honours students or postgraduate students engaged in coursework and HDR students, as appropriate.
Keep abreast of current discipline theory and practice and apply these in teaching and learning.
Contribute to curriculum innovation and design to develop students learning
Undertake a range of administrative functions connected with the unit.
Provide support to the course team in the development of curricula and resources
Influence the overall academic, social and cultural experience of higher education through;
recognition of the particular learning needs of first year students and facilitating their transition into university learning, and
ensure students from equity and other demographic subgroups receive adequate support to participate and facilitate success in their courses.
You will bring to the role
PhD in Agriculture, Agribusiness or a related subject.
Knowledge of the Australian agricultural system
Knowledge, understanding and application of agronomy, crop science and/ or soil science as applied to agricultural systems
Demonstrated reflective and innovative approach to teaching.
Desire to be involved in curriculum development, team teaching and supervision of Honours and HDR students
A high level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment along with the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
A commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
