ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified electrician to join the JTMEC team at one of our Nth QLD mine sites. This position will be DIDO from Charters Towers with messing and accommodation provided. The role will involve working 12 hour shifts on a day and night roster. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• servicing, maintenance, diagnose and repair, and statutory testing of underground electrical equipment such as Jumbos, Solos, Mono and Flygt pumps, ventilation fans and leaky feeder communications.
• installation and maintenance of underground HV and LV reticulation
• statutory testing of surface and underground electrical infrastructure

ABOUT YOU

To be successful, you must have previous underground mining experience in a similar role.  You will also hold the relevant trade certificate, drivers license and LVR certificate as well as being able to pass ongoing medical and drug and alcohol testing.  You will also be able to demonstrate:

• a commitment to a ZERO harm culture;
• an excellent understanding of mining and electrical standards;
• be a self-starter who is reliable, honest and takes pride in your work;
• the ability to work both as a member of a team, as well as independently;
• HV switching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
