Plant Operator

At Forestry Corporation we pride ourselves on being the largest manager of commercial plantation and native forests in New South Wales.  We manage renewable timber production, environmental sustainability and recreation across more than two million hectares of NSW State forests.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Plant Operator to join us on a two (2) year contract, who will be responsible for forest road works including road maintenance, upgrade and construction with  manual labour and plant operation.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a great Harvesting and Roading crew in the Bombala Management Area that manages maintenance and construction of region wide road and associated infrastructure.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skill and experience to succeed in the role;

• Demonstrated experience in operating heavy plant machinery in a safe manner ensuring compliance with environmental standards;
• Experience in road construction, maintenance techniques and quality control;
• Knowledge of legal requirements relating to road construction and maintenance;
• Ability to interpret complex instructions and plans, with the ability to read maps, interpret and record basic field data;
• Good verbal communication, organisational, decision making and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team;
• Capacity and willingness to undertake firefighting as required and work afterhours;
• Have a current medium rigid trucks licence.
