Senior Communications Adviser

Queensland Rail is seeking an experienced, creative and highly-motivated communications expert to join its Internal and Strategic Communications team as a Senior Communications Adviser on a permanent basis.

The role involves developing high-quality communications pieces, managing all internal engagement events and ensuring the delivery of compelling content across Queensland Rail’s internal channels. The role also includes partnering with our Executive Team and their leaders to create and execute internal communication plans and activities to support operational changes and transformation projects.

The role:

  • Develop and implement communication tools, processes and activities to contribute to the business objectives of the relevant function.
  • Assist in the implementation of Queensland Rail's internal strategic communication program to support all functions.
  • Assist in the management and organisation of internal channels, including Yammer, the intranet, and internal newsletters, including developing and managing processes to ensure effective governance is maintained.
  • Direct communication tactics towards specific audience preferences by using communication methods that are cost-efficient and innovative to bridge the geographical divide, including engaging remote and field workers.
  • Manage Queensland Rail internal events, including (but not limited to) leadership forums, roadshows and functional townhalls.

About you:

To be considered for this opportunity you will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in a communications or marketing related discipline, with strong experience in corporate communications gained within a high-profile organisation. In addition you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering communication strategies and plans.
  • A positive, energetic attitude and the ability to work in a small team within a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • High level of interpersonal and written communication skills, including consultation and presentation skills.
  • High level of skill in developing and managing processes and systems to ensure effective governance and oversight with excellent attention to detail.
  • Significant experience in managing events to drive effective internal engagement.
  • Flexibility to travel – you can expect to manage several regional events across the state throughout the year so a passion for managing events coupled with outstanding organisational skills is a must.
  • Experience in developing and/or implementing transformation and change communications or providing communications support for other enabling functions would be advantageous.

 

Starting salary $103,995 + super
