An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Finance Officer – Creditors. This position will report to the Coordinator Financial Operations.
The Finance Officer – Creditors will operate under the general direction of the Coordinator Financial Operations and be responsible for maintaining creditor records and verifying claims and process payments in a timely manner in accordance with Council’s procurement and accounts payable policies and procedures. In addition, this position will provide backup support to the Financial Operations and Financial Services team as required.

The Person We Seek:
The preferred candidate will have a developed knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures, highly developed communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to learn new systems of work and adapt to accounting systems. In addition, you will have a high attention to detail with an ability to keep to tight deadlines.
Previous experience in a similar position or equivalent environment would be also be highly regarded.
