Agricultural Research & Extension Coordinator

The Facey Group based in Wickepin Western Australia, works closely with broad-acre farmers in setting research and development priorities, identifying gaps in knowledge and barriers to adoption. The Facey Group is an innovative, highly motivated, organised and well-resourced grower group with a strong focus on our local grain growing region. Grower driven & managed, the group aims to achieve economic, social and environmental sustainability of farming enterprises through production research, development and extension programs, projects and farm business development activities.

Are you searching for a challenging and varied role in a fun and interactive team environment Due to continued demand for quality farmer driven agricultural research and demonstrations to improve their service and commitment to current partners and funders, the Facey Group requires the services of an Agricultural Research & Extension Coordinator.

The Facey Group is seeking someone  who possesses strong attention to detail, is highly organized and has an enthusiastic & innovative personality. Ideally the candidate will have Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture or Science or similar equivalent or demonstrated relevant experience to join us in reaching our goals for our farming members and industry partners, and be willing to live locally.

As the Facey Group Agricultural Research & Extension Coordinator you will work closely with the Executive Officer and be involved in;

  • Developing, implementing & managing research projects

  • Monitoring, recording and communication of data gathered from sustainability and productivity trials and demonstrations

  • Coordinating our Cropping & NRM specialty group

  • Coordinating sustainability and productivity trials and demonstrations

  • Motivating & interacting with farmers daily to ensure the R, D & E function of the Facey Group remains robust, relevant and useful to our members and wider industry

  • Organising and conducting an array of field days, workshops and seminars

  • Access funding to assist the group to prosper

    Essential prerequisites for the role include current Australian 'C' class drivers licence and a high level of proficiency of computing skills and highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
