One of Australias most high-profile Federal Government Departments is looking to engage an experienced Forensic Chemist to join an established team to participate in chemical and physical testing of therapeutic products for quality and purity, using various techniques. The successful Forensic Chemist will be offered an initial 12-month contract starting ASAP at a competitive daily rate.
The successful Forensic Chemist will be responsible for but not limited to;
Assisting in the development and maintenance of the laboratories quality system including instrument maintenance and calibration, GLP, WH&S and laboratory accreditation
Undertaking chemical and physical testing of therapeutic products
Helping coordinate complex laboratory projects and participate in developing and validating analytical methods.
Preparing reports on testing of therapeutic products and keep records in accordance with NATA guidelines and good laboratory practice
Investigating forensic testing of complaint samples and counterfeit or unregistered therapeutic products
The successful Forensic Chemist must have the following;
Recent and extensive lab-based experience in a relevant area of applied analytical chemistry, preferably obtained in an accredited laboratory working under a quality system
A good understanding of analytical techniques such as UPLC/HPLC, LC/MS, GC/MS and UV/VIS
Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and chromatography data system software.
Demonstrated ability to contribute productively both independently and in a team.
Relevant qualification in Chemistry or a closely related science from an Australian tertiary institution or a comparable overseas qualification
