My client currently has a vacancy within the Maintenance Department for a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter / Mechanical Tradesperson. The successful candidate will be required to work safely in a mining environment on a 2:1 (14:7) roster arrangement which includes night shift.
This position is residential and relocation assistance provided for the successful applicant to move to a relaxed and laid-back lifestyle living on the cooler coast. Company housing is supplied rent free with generous company allowances to cover most general domestic services.
The position reports to the Senior Mechanical Coordinator and plays an instrumental part in focusing on preventative maintenance and breakdown repair of all mobile and fixed plant. You will join and contribute to a dedicated team committed to providing consistent high standard maintenance services whilst maintaining safety standards at all times.
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
• Current Mechanical Trade Qualification, with approximately 5 years post trade experience. • Previous experience on maintenance of prime movers, particularly Kenworth. • Experience with mobile plant is essential, particularly CAT and Komatsu equipment. • Trouble shooting and fault-finding experience. • Previous mine site experience desirable. • Commitment to the Health and Safety of all whilst protecting the environment. • Capacity to work safely, identifying hazards and changes that may impact safety. • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively unsupervised or within a team. Be self-motivated and have initiative. • Desire and the ability to learn new skills. • Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service. • Be able to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, obtain a National Police Clearance and be able to obtain and retain a Maritime Security identification card. • Hold current 'HR' class WA licence. • Be passionate about what you do.
The duties of the role will include but are not be limited to: • Regular preventative maintenance on heavy diesel mobile plant. • Major component scheduled change outs. • Diagnostics, fault finding and troubleshooting. • Breakdown tasks. • Responsible for mechanical safety of all equipment owned and operated on site. • Ensure all installation, repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out safely and comply with company policies and procedures. • Maintaining high levels of safety and environmental standards.
