Healesville Sanctuary is seeking a Foodstore Operator to join the team on a fixed term basis.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Accountable for Food, Equipment & Uniform Supplies by maintaining stock and the purchase, storage, delivery and the distribution of animal food, while ensuring quality standards are maintained. - Purchase, delivery, and distribution of equipment for the Life Sciences Department - Stock monitoring, purchase, storage and distribution of uniforms for Healesville Sanctuary - Animal Food Preparation and Live Food Production - Manage the production and husbandry of live food (e.g. mice, rats, flies, crickets etc) to maximise output while maintaining the highest animal welfare standards
You are a highly motivated, energetic team member, who brings a high standard of verbal and written communication skills to the position. You will use initiative when working both autonomously and within a close team environment. You have sound knowledge of the modern zoo philosophy, conservation and education, and well-developed interpersonal skills, appropriate presentation skills, and the experience to impart the Zoos Victoria message to a wide variety of stakeholders and most importantly, the ability to engage the general public. You will have a commitment to the Zoos Victoria Vision.
- A current forklift license would be advantageous. - A current certificate to operate a band saw would be advantageous.
You will be required to work on a roster across a 7-day week, including weekends and public holidays, being physically able to undertake work, holding a current driver's licence and be willing to participate in additional training/education as required.
