About the role

This is a rare and unique opportunity to directly impact the diversity and inclusion outcomes for the workforce of the NSW Government. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Advisor to manage and support the Public Service Commission's (PSC) strategic program of work to help embed workforce diversity and inclusion across the NSW government sector. The role will include leading the sector to deliver on sector-wide diversity targets in the NSW Premiers Priority World Class public service.

The role manages a range of complex projects and programs and provides strategic advice in relation to the development and implementation of sector-wide diversity and inclusion management strategies.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in organisational development, designing and embedding people systems and processes and cultural change projects. Experience in designing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies would be an advantage as would an understanding of current thinking about leadership values, talent and succession. A passion and background in delivering change and culture initiatives from a workforce diversity and inclusion perspective is essential.

We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Think, lead and develop innovative solutions to complex issues
  • Guide and develop team members to high levels of achievement
  • Manage the delivery of reforms, strategic initiatives or interagency projects
  • Work in a fast paced, high volume environment with competing priorities
  • Foster and grow essential networks and relationships with external parties and relevant industry groups
  • Understand and translate legislation, policy and funding initiatives impacting the public sector workforce

About the Public Service Commission

The Public Service Commission is headed by an independent Public Service Commissioner and is a separate agency under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (GSE Act) that supports the Commissioner in the exercise of his/her functions and powers.

The PSC leads the design, development and implementation of the full range of sector-wide workforce management strategies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the NSW government sector.
