Whittens are currently seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic and versatile individuals who have proven experience in Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance for various projects in Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. Working based on a FIFO roster cycle you will be compensated with a competitive salary package. All flights, meals and accommodation will also be supplied.
Working closely with the Project Manager, the HSE Compliance Advisor role is to be the onsite process owner and custodian of the HSE management system. Primarily to advise on HSE performance, your focus will be to identify opportunities for improvement and to monitor and ensure the delivery teams maintain compliance to the HSE management systems and processes.
Ideally, will have 7-10 years HSE experience in construction, mining, oil and gas or manufacturing industries and a minimum of 3-4 years experience in a FIFO role.
Essential that you have an Advance Diploma in OHS or WHS, preferably with a degree qualification in OHS/WHS and qualified as a lead auditor.
Solid understanding of all WHS and OHS legislation including workers compensation and environmental requirements and be able to demonstrate workplace implementation and compliance.
As an excellent communicator of both written and verbal you will also have above average computer skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and OHS software applications.
These roles will be suited to practitioners with experience and a strong ability to facilitate change through education and coaching of the line management to meet the compliance objective.
A current C Class drivers licence is essential.
Duties will include:
Provide technical and legislative assistance to the Senior Line Manager to meet legal, moral and ethical HSE standards;
Provide support to the Line Managers to implement and achieve compliance to the Whittens HSE Management System;
Provide leadership in the Whittens Principle Hazard Management Program and ensure Critical Controls are in place, monitored and effective;
Oversee the incident investigation process and, where required, mentor Line Managers to complete reporting and investigation;
Implement strategies to raise and maintain safety standards;
Manage and undertake audits to ensure record and maintenance of training documentation and compliance to internal and projects training needs analysis;
Facilitate the projects requirements regarding updates to Whittens documents and safe systems of work during reviews;
Provide assistance to the Engineers and Planners in the development of Work Packs and Work Method Statements to ensure Principle Hazards are included and Critical Controls implemented;
Assist Corporate HSE in coordinating injury management and return to work (as required);
Build, develop and maintain strong working relationships with all Stakeholders;
Assist in the development and maintenance environmental systems, documents and data for use throughout the organisation;
Promote, teach, discuss and communicate to all levels of personnel to make sure Whittens consistently delivers on safety/environmental obligations;
Ensure documentation such as procedures, guidelines and infield tools are updated, and document controlled.
