Finance Clerk

Effective Digital is a Melbourne-based global leader in the enterprise collaboration market. Our award-winning intranet product, GreenOrbit, is used around the globe with clients such as Jetstar, Audi Australia, SBS, Bank Australia, Cotton On, News Limited, Brookline Bancorp, Honey Baked Ham, C&S Wholesalers and many more.

We are looking for a hands-on, accurate and thorough Finance Clerk.  We require a finance champion with technology / SaaS experience who is excited by the challenge of joining an established business with a start-up mentality.  We require someone who thrives on multi-tasking, has excellent communication and relationship building skills and is passionate about finance and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • General bookkeeping; payroll management

  • Working closely with staff at all levels to ensure prompt processing of invoicing, receivables, payables and budget strategies

  • Cashflow management around above processes to ensure minimisation of compliance, financial and exchange risks; debtor management; credit control

  • Weekly reconciliation of company bank accounts and monthly journals

  • Job level P&L reporting

  • Assistance with preparation of month-end P&L reports; balance sheet reporting; budgets vs actuals

  • Assisting with year-end statutory reporting requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification

  • 6+ years experience in a finance role

  • Hands on candidate required as role includes high volume data entry, invoicing, processing of purchases and preparing bank payments in a timely and accurate manner

  • GST experience

  • Payroll management experience

  • Foreign currency transaction experience preferred

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines - quick turnaround required for day-to-day running of business and monthly flash reporting

  • Interest in and knowledge of technology / SaaS industry

  • Strong Xero, Excel and analytical skills

  • Efficient use of systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to form positive work relationships with staff in Australia and overseas and to communicate well both verbally and in writing
