WHS Coordinator

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for an experienced WHS Coordinator to support infrastructure projects in the North-West Region of the state.   The focus of this role will be to offer support, advice and mentoring to our site management teams.  This will assist in ensuring the effective implementation of the Integrated Management System and the achievement of our strategic objectives.

About the role:

You will be instrumental in monitoring and assisting with implementation of the Integrated Management System, while providing specialist WHS advice and influencing positive behaviors on your project. This is an active role that requires the candidate to possess experience across Civil Infrastructure ideally with exposure to RMS work. Your consultative approach and client focus will see you excel in this position.  This is an exciting opportunity, which will see you take ownership of our safety culture and results on an interesting and challenging infrastructure project. 


To be considered you will have:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent);
  • Experience with incident investigation (ideally ICAM or Taproot);
  • Extensive in-field experience working in similar Civil construction, ideally with exposure to RMS works
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with managers, executive and staff to achieve business outcomes;
  • Current Drivers License;
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent);
  • Subcontractor management experience;
  • Experience in implementing systems in accordance with AS4801
  • Experienced in conflict resolution;
  • Competent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to problem solve and assist with making practical decisions in a high stress environment;
  • Ability to consult and influence throughout all levels
  • Ability to interpret legislation and related standards;
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and be on call as required, and
  • Experience influencing safety Behaviors throughout all levels of the project team


  • Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems);
  • Qualifications/Experience in Risk Management Processes or similar;
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessing
