About the role

The Commercial Analyst is accountable to undertake complex work that ensures outcomes are achieved across all of our branches. These core functions include quality reporting and quality auditing. Legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents guide the position.

The position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, analyse information and appraise decision making in relation to the application of practices and procedures to support enhancements in DES quality through continuous improvement. The Commercial Analyst will acquire data from primary and secondary data sources, maintain data collection systems, interpret data, analyse the results and use statistical techniques to coordinate and drive reporting requirements.

The Commercial Analyst will work collaboratively our teams and will provide accurate and specialised advice and ensuring teams are well informed and have access to relevant information.

In this role, you will 

  • Produce high quality business analytics, which provide commercial insight, supports the entire business to understand its performance and assists in development and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Manage the monthly / quarterly / annual reporting processes, and producing timely, accurate and reliable financial reports.
  • Play a key role in developing and implementing procedures including streamlining reporting activities and developing dashboards and KPI's for the business.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis on business issues to understand root causes and formulate improvement strategies.
  • Continuously improve and develop management reporting systems and processes.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance or related discipline.
  • A drive for achieving results and meeting targets (short and long term).
  • Ability to think analytically, commercially and strategically.
  • Experience working with complex multidisciplinary teams with strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities to manage competing priorities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload;
  • Flexible and adaptable;
  • The ability to work autonomously and supported by team that is outcome focused
  • Resilient, self-motivated and an ability to influence.

We will require the successful applicant to complete a Police Check prior to employment.
