About the role
Reporting to the Client Accounting Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Accounting Specialist to join our firm. This role provides an opportunity to provide client accounting assistance to fee earners, assist in project delivery and support staff across our Australian offices. This role presents a great opportunity for someone to take carriage of day to day transactions, build relationships, and drive improvements and initiatives while working in a fast paced environment.
This opportunity is based in our Sydney office on a full-time basis.
What does the role involve
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support across client accounting for the Sydney office from partners to legal secretaries;
- Support Australia wide accounting day to day operations;
- Set-up new clients and matters;
- Manage changes in core client accounting data;
- Assist in testing client accounting systems and procedures;
- Support client bespoke needs including designing and maintaining billing guides;
- Assist in training of staff in client accounting policies, procedures and systems;
- Participate in project to up-grade and test systems.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar client accounting role in the legal services industry. Candidates with previous legal secretary and client billing experience using (Elite or Aderant) are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience across all aspects of client accounting, particularly in relation to legal practice management systems. You have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical business users.
You will possess strong analytical and client facing skills with experience in training and coaching of staff. In addition you will have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain solid business partnerships and experience with legal industry payment and processing platforms.
