Strategic Communication and Marketing Lead

The Strategic Marketing and Communications Lead is responsible for driving Latrobes strategic communication and marketing program to deliver improved member experience and engagement with Latrobes brand. The role will be deliver effective communication and marketing activities that deliver Latrobes business objectives of member engagement, brand awareness, community engagement and ultimately growth, acquisition and retention of members.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the development, design and implementation of brand, marketing and communications strategies that will support Latrobe in achieving its business objectives.
  • Build the Latrobe brand with members and the community through innovative and creative marketing and community engagement campaigns.
  • Design and deliver public relations, media and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Monitor and report performance and effectiveness of activities, including; content engagement, media tracking, member engagement, community awareness and brand engagement.
  • Build Latrobes understanding of its members, market segments and member journey to ensure relevant and strategic insights are delivered and integrated into the ongoing development of marketing and communication activities.
  • Deliver increased member satisfaction through loyalty and member engagement programs.
  • Support Latrobes business development and retention teams with proactive and responsive marketing strategies that assist with meeting Latrobes business objectives.

About you, your knowledge and experience

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to draft and proof documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience developing, driving and implementing marketing and/or communication strategies that build brand and achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability in community-based engagement activities that build community awareness and engagement with brand.
  • Experience in utilising customer data to make strategic decisions which align to corporate objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams to deliver collaboratively designed and effective communication and/or marketing strategies.
  • Experience in proactive and reactive media management, and skilled in effective issues management.
  • Minimum five years experience in a comparable marketing and communications role.
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing and Communications, Journalism, or related area.
  • High degree of familiarity with digital platforms and their use in integrated marketing campaigns
  • Advanced MS Office skills and Adobe Creative Cloud (desirable).
