As an Intake and Support Officer, for this newly established commission, you will be a part of the Private Sessions Team.
The private sessions Legal Team is responsible for conducting private sessions with Commissioners and identifying information that should be investigated further.
As an Intake and Support Officer, you will be responsible for:
Enquiries about private sessions;
The first point of contact for people offered sessions;
Instructions on requirements and adjustments; and
Meeting Logistics in consideration with the needs of the participant.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
APS 5 or APS 6 or equivalent level;
Must have demonstrated research experience;
Prior experience working for Not for Profits, a relevant oversight body, or investigations would be highly advantageous;
Knowledge of issues or social injustices against the disadvantaged or people with a disability;
Knowledge of the Royal Commission would be preferred; and
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others on all levels.
For this opportunity, you must be an empathic, critical thinker that has the capacity to manage in a challenging environment. You will be dealing with complex materials and subject matter that can be quite disheartening, so you will need to be highly resilient.
This role would be an ongoing contract for the length of the commission, so you will be a person looking for a long term opportunity.
