Experienced Book Keeper

Darkhorse Hospitality oversees Food and Beverage outlets is looking for a mature full time book keeper. The role is located in Rosebery.

Reporting to the owners of the business, you will form an integral part of the business.  You will be part of the head office team working with alongside a small team. You will share responsibilities for all reconciliations, GL, Bank, balance sheet, credit card recs, weekly management reports and wages record keeping. You will also be heavily involved in month-end, including posting of journals, preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly BAS

Key stakeholders include the external accountant, department heads and suppliers where extensive communication is required and you will be relied upon to undertake ad-hoc tasks at the request of management.

You will need a minimum of 5 years accounting / book keeping experience. It is essential that you have had experience of using MYOB and Xero as well as standard month-end duties. WageEasy and payroll knowledge is an advantage but not necessary. This role is stand alone so you must be a confident, self-starter who shows initiative and takes a proactive approach to your day-to-day work.

To be successful in this role you will also have the following:

  • Hands on accounting / book keeping experience in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience with multiple entities
  • Proven dedication to delivering regular reports as required by management
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Impeccable eye for detail
  • Time management skills
  • Team player
