From humble beginnings in 1957, Primo Foods originated from a butcher shop in Sydney producing smallgoods drawing from the authentic Hungarian recipes. They later became the most innovative high-tech meat processing facility in the southern hemisphere. Reporting to the Category Director, Michael Herriot, the Category Analyst will work across the whole portfolio and will be the “hub of information” for the business and team. As they champion the category space, they will look to create a suite of reports to help the business understand the external momentum of Primo products, how Primo’s shoppers are behaving and the impact of pricing and promotions. They will own and communicate these across the business, giving an opportunity to influence a culture shift in how category is viewed and utilised.
Regular reporting and analysis of NPD, competitor and range is expected, with the ideal candidate capable of providing commentary on influential factors for the results and offering potential solutions. They will be responsible for creating base decks for range reviews and assisting in ad hoc reporting as required. They will manage the shelf planning software for the business as they advise on execution, planograms and layout. They will play a critical role in creating inputs for the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process which will be pivotal in forming long term decisions.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, agile and adaptable with excellent planning skills. They will have experience with various data sources, including Nielsen, IRI and Quantium. They will be a tactful communicator, as they work across a variety of business levels. They will be self-driven and work autonomously whilst ensuring they encompass the Primo values and principles. Showing long term growth ambition, they will play a key role in the success of the newly transformed category function.
