Legal Personal Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Secretary or Personal Assistant with experience in, or who is looking to move into, the legal industry.  You’ll support one partner and up to four fee-earners in a market-leading employment litigation practice.  The partner is quite often offsite, visiting clients or the courts, so you need to be comfortable dealing with clients directly and working autonomously, looking after the practice while the partner is away.

Ideally, you will have experience within a litigation practice, but we are also happy to provide training if you don't have this experience.  It's essential that you have solid experience working as a personal or legal assistant in a complex environment.

The key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients, filtering incoming calls, arranging client meetings and dealing with inquiries and requests.
  • Draft correspondence, prepare and amend documents.
  • File management, including opening and closing files, electronic and physical filing and scanning.
  • Conduct billing, including preparation of detailed bills and reporting.
  • Prepare and file court documents.
  • Diary management and maintaining a diary of hearings and reminders for court timetables.
  • Assist other Legal Assistants where necessary and provide back up as a buddy.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as a legal or personal assistant gained within a complex corporate environment.
  • Strong client and interpersonal liaison skills.
  • A self-starter who is able to work autonomously.
  • A flexible, collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Previous experience in monthly billing using relevant financial software would be beneficial.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and typing skills.
