Contract Formation and Administrative Specialist

IPA is currently seeking an experienced part-time Contract Formation and Administration Specialist for a Government Department based in Wacol.

Our client is a major public health care facility that provides a large variety of general health care in the West Moreton region.

Currently, our client is undergoing a large refurbishment project. As a Contract Formation and Administration Specialist, you will be expected to provide professional advice related to Design and Build concepts on the delivery of the refurbishment project. Ideally, you will have experience within a health-related engineering/construction projects and have a broad knowledge in the formation, negotiation, and award of various types of construction contracts.

What kind of responsibilities will I have

Contract Formation Duties:

  • Preparation and maintenance of project bidder lists, preparation of bid request packages, review bids, and make bid recommendations;
  • Assist, guide and plan the processing of service requests for project contracts;
  • Develops and maintains master contract forms, this includes legal and commercials terms and conditions; and
  • Prepare and implement negotiation plans.

Contract Administration Duties:

  • Implement and assign contract management tasks;
  • Continual review and maintenance of the contracts progression from a financial and technical standpoint; and
  • Represent our client during contractual discussions to moderate complexities and negotiate changes where needed.

To be successful for this position, you will possess:

  • At least 10 years experience in contract formation, administration specialist on similar complex construction projects;
  • Specialised experience in pricing, contract law, negotiating, accounting and conflict resolution;
  • It would be highly advantageous to have a degree in Quantity surveying;
  • Superior technical knowledge and the ability to communicate to all levels of the project team;
  • Ability to foresee any contract issues and develop effective solutions; and
  • Expert levels of written and verbal communication; and
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management of those relationships.

This role will initially be for 3 days during the procurement stage of the project and then will reduce to 1 day per week. The contract for this project is scheduled to end in October 2020 with the chance of extension.
