Brunel have partnered with one of Australia's Leading Iron Ore Producers to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 15 years experience for a 12 month contract to start ASAP.
I am looking for a high performing Mechanical Engineer with a strong design and field experience. Good communication and negotiation skills are critical in this role.
It is be essential that you have substantive experience in the Iron Ore industry, preferably as an owners representative. In depth knowledge of pumps and piping is essential, experience in slurry piping will be valuable. Additionally experience in bulk materials handling, vibrating screens, feeders, crushers, guarding, fixed and skid mounted pumps, Tailings, generators, plant layout and writing and evaluating business cases will be highly regarded.
This position is Perth based with ad-hock site travel required to the Pilbara. This temporary position is part of our Perth Engineering team, which is a part of the asset management group. This Team provides operational support to the sites engineers the project managers (this is not a project management role). It is a small team with a very broad coverage, so we need people who can be flexible. We need someone who has a positive attitude and is ready to tackle any issue as the work is quite varied.
The role requirements include:
Supporting sites for urgent operational issues that are beyond the scope of the site team\
Supporting project management to ensure that the projects that are delivered actually work as required
Taking ownership and resolving technical reliability problems within the business which run across multiple sites.
Development of business cases for new projects to improve equipment reliability or performance
Development and maintenance of mechanical corporate standards
Mentoring of engineering and project staff.
