Give a Care is a disability service provider operating in Melbourne's Bayside Peninsula region. What makes Give a Care unique, is that it was founded by someone with a disability, Jeff Shaw, who has been living with an acquired brain injury for over 10 years.

This role will support the Financial Controller with recording financial transactions, preparing payroll, preparing invoices, creating and maintaining spreadsheets for data analysis and ad hoc duties as required.

  • Minimum two years in a comparable role 
  • Experienced in accounting and operational software packages
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the disability sector desirable but not essential


  • Completed a minimum of Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or a Certificate IV in Accounting. 
  • Recording and reporting financial transactions in XERO or similar software
  • High level experience working with the Microsoft Suite of programs
  • Arranging, preparing and sending invoices
  • Preparing and processing payroll and maintaining employee records
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Reporting for preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • High-level knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • A good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • A sound understanding of data management and financial data analysis
