ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Essential Services Technician is an integral part of KRSPs field operations team. You will undertake routine inspections of the power, water and waste water plant and equipment which provide essential services to remote Aboriginal communities.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Inspect the integrity of infrastructure compound fences and gates
- Check for active and historical warnings and alarms to plant and equipment
- Complete general performance inspections of plant and equipment
- Perform general housekeeping within infrastructure compounds and surrounds
- Undertake front line diagnosis of asset faults and breakdowns and remediate where possible
- Perform basic servicing, repair and minor maintenance to equipment
- Top up diesel fuel to dri-prime pumps
- Inspect water levels in storage tanks and waste water levels in ponds
- Inspect and record quantities of plant and equipment consumable products
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is flexible and has the proven ability to manage their own work tasks with minimal direction. You will be comfortable working remotely and in isolation and will demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity and safe work practices. A positive mindset in dealing with work and people is essential.
Ideally you will hold a trade qualification in mechanical, electrical, plumbing or electricity supply and distribution. A current C class drivers licence and first aid qualification is essential.
This is a permanent, residential role where you are required to relocate to a remote Aboriginal community in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The position will function within the community as well as provide maintenance service tasks to surrounding Aboriginal communities.
As a resident you will have access to general services including a medical clinic, general store, church and primary school. Most Aboriginal communities are dry meaning that alcohol is not permitted.
