About us

The School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and high-quality research in civil and mechanical engineering. The school has extensive laboratory facilities including pavement/geotechnology research facilities and water laboratory enhancements.

Your new role

Conducting research in the Bio-civil engineering area in ARC-Linkage Project and achieve milestones. The Fellow will conduct and coordinate research as delineated in the research project, develop and procure resources for the project, manage the Bio-Activated Materials Laboratory, train new research team members, liaise with industry partners and other project duties directed by the Project Lead. Key performance indicators are disseminating research results through reports, presentations, publications in leading international journals and commercialisation.

 You will bring to the role

• PhD in either Biotechnology/Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering.
• Demonstrated record of accomplishment in the area of “Bio-based construction materials” with outcomes of publications in high quality international journals
• Demonstrated skill in seeking and securing research grants
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to perform hands on experiments and interact with a range of students, staff and industry partners.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and oral communication skills with ability to consult and liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated written communication skills with the ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications, reports and other relevant documentation in clear and user-friendly language.
• Able to plan, organise, achieve multiple work targets, and meet deadlines.
