Continuous Improvement Engineer

Luus Industries is seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive Lean initiatives and cost savings in our local manufacturing operations.  With a proud and long history in Melbournes Western Suburbs, Manufacturing high end commercial cooking appliances we have developed a reputation synonymous with quality and functionality at a competitive price.

In the face of increasing pressure from imported products and advancements in manufacturing technology Luus is committed to maintaining manufacturing in Australia.  To that end we are proactively seeking to step up our activities around implementation of Lean production practices.  This becomes increasingly important as we pursue significant growth opportunities and has resulted in the creation of a new leadership position in the business for a Continuous Improvement Manager.  This role in conjunction with Senior management commitment to funding and fostering change will shape the future of its manufacturing operations in Australia.

To be considered for this role you will:

  • Have an innate ability to inspire others through a can do positive attitude, commitment, and integrity.
  • Be a clear fit with Luus core values.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Have a relevant Engineering qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • You will be a Lean practitioner with demonstrable experience and capabilities in implementing lean initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Have strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering programs on time and on budget.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft office applications including, word, excel and powerpoint and be capable of easily picking up a new ERP system.
  • Be a solid communicator and team player
  • Be a self-starter who takes initiative to provide solutions
  • Demonstrate high level prioritisation and personal management skills
