About the role
Run the store successfully by working on the shop floor
Develop relationships with employees and customers
Drive standards ensuring high levels of merchandising, customer service and cleanliness ensuring our customers experience the true "MarketPlace Fresh experience "
Responsible for the store's financial performance and compliance,
Maintain knowledge and understanding of: Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety and employment legislation
Learn and champion MarketPlace Fresh Policies and Procedures
Achieve store key financial Indicators: Sales, GP%, Labour %
Maximising profitability by driving sales, controlling costs and minimising wastage
Driving sales through effective merchandising and promotional activity
Drive WH&S and food safety
Stock Management: Effectively manage quality issues, minimising wastage, ensure application of correct pricing by batch, ordering stock in line with sales projection, ensuring accuracy of store stock takes
Rostering and Planning: Managing store rosters to ensure labour costs are kept within the budgeted forecast, effective planning of staff, ensuring staff numbers are in-line with store trade patterns, approving payroll costs
Customer Service: Ensure all employees deliver high standards of Customer Service and Marketplace experience, Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service and complaints resolution
People: Coaching, Training & Development, Mentoring and Talent recognition of employees Performance Management provide feedback to employees about performance and expectations, ensuring all issues of underperformance are being addressed and managed. Manage and resolve employee related issues and concerns.
Aid in the recruitment process and ensure all staff are correctly inducted and trained in company standards, procedures and policies

Skills and experience
Experience in a similar role is required
Experience in forecasting, budgeting, stock management and rostering is desired
Experience in the fruit & vegetable industry is desired
Customer Service Focused: Committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels face to face, written & phone
Communication: The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
Teamwork: Willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
Time Management / Organisation: Accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties in a timely manner.
Business or Retail qualifications, highly desirable
Customer Service training, highly desirable
Computer literacy skills: Word, Excel; Outlook;
