Purchasing and Logistics Supervisor

Ranger Drilling is an Australian owned company delivering safe and productive drilling solutions for our customers across a wide range of drilling applications from Grade Control, Reverse Circulation, Diamond Drilling and small diameter water bores. Our outstanding reputation in the industry has awarded us contracts with major mining companies throughout Western Australia. 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Supervisor who will take responsibility for the purchasing, receivables and the handling / dispatching of stores for Ranger Drilling. Reporting to the General Manager, this is generalist role that requires a self starter with a solid stores and purchasing background with good knowledge of supporting remote site mining operations in WA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Safe Working Practices and Procedures and report all incidents, accidents, near misses and hazards to the Maintenance Manager/Operations Manager as per the requirements of the Ranger policies and procedures
  • Actively supervise the stores and logistics team.
  • Purchasing of consumables and parts
  • Ensure competitive pricing on all items through effective negotiation with suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers invoicing is aligned with quote and received in a timely fashion by accounts payable.
  • Receive stock orders from sites (general and emergency orders)
  • Manage the dispatch of stock to sites
  • Inventory management
  • Maintain accurate records and receipt/delivery advice
  • Ensure team maintain a clean and safe store and yard.
  • Check goods on arrival and before dispatch, ensuring they have the right products, in the correct quantity and that there is no damage
  • Manage Freight Forwarders to ensure stock is arriving on site with required time frames.
  • Working with Finance team to ensure accurate budgeting

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Solid history of supporting remote sites in a Procurement and Logistics role;  
  • Experience with Maintenance System (MEX) or similar desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate with people at all levels effectively;
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely;
  • Good time management and work prioritisation skills;
  • Able to work individually and in a team;
  • Forklift License
