Sydney Grammar School is seeking a full time employee to join our Technical Services team, specialising in Audio Visual. The successful applicant will have technical knowledge in using digital audio and video equipment to set up, record and edit School events.

Job Description: Audio Visual Technical Support Officer
Reporting to: ICT Operations Manager
Commencing: 18 November 2019
Annual holidays must be taken during School holiday periods only.
Has relevant tertiary qualifications
Competent and experienced in managing audio visual infrastructures in venues including theatres, halls and classrooms.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Continuous equipment and venue review; proactively seeking to improve the Audio Visual functions of the School.
Familiarity with digital storage.
High level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Proficient in taking and editing photographs for School publications.
Detailed understanding of Work, Health & Safety requirements.
Maintaining audio visual equipment in the School and organising maintenance and upgrading of equipment as required.
Managing the maintenance and general running of all audio-visual equipment for events at Sydney Grammar Schools external venues including Preparatory Schools, Weigall grounds and The Boat Shed at Gladesville.
Assisting the Director of Music and all music staff in the planning, organisation and delivery of School Concerts and other performances.
Technically preparing and running all School events and concerts. This includes the set-up of all microphones and video cameras; performing sound checks as well as the live audio and multiple video camera recording and editing of these events.
Liaising with the Head of Languages to prepare for examinations. This includes recording, editing and producing audio resources as well as technical set up for the examinations.
Preparation of all School venues for examination periods; microphone set-ups, CD player set-ups and exam clock set-ups in each venue.
Attend and contribute to the weekly fixtures meeting: coordinating with Music, Property and Events departments to facilitate audio-visual requirements for all internal and external bookings.
Managing the audio-visual requirements for the combined Sydney Grammar Schools speech days and performances. This role includes liaising with Sydney Grammar Preparatory Schools at Edgecliff and St Ives as well as Sydney City Council.
Liaise with the Archives Department to assist them in any audio visual requirements.
Be available for troubleshooting School events if not physically attending.
Be available for hire by external organisations using School facilities.
Assist in venue security where required.
Assist with other tasks as required and requested.
