Field Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic Adelaide

The Opportunity:
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Field Service/Workshop Technician to join our Service Department based at our Adelaide Branch in Regency Park. Reporting to the Service Supervisor's and Branch Manager, this position is responsible for carrying out repairs and service work on all makes of forklift trucks, plant equipment, road vehicles and other equipment in both the field and branch workshop.If you are a skilled technician with Heavy Vehicle, Forklift and Plant Equipment /restricted LPG technician experience, Hydraulic, hold a current driver's licence, have strong diagnostic skills and a high standard of work we would like to hear from you.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Operational:
 

  • Service and repair equipment in line with Komatsu standards; report any deficiencies or faults
  • Compile and submit clear, legible, accurate documentation relating to time keeping, personal administration, job repair recording, material requisitioning and purchases
  • Manage jobs and tasks allocated to ensure completion within standard times and costs to customer satisfaction
  • Manage or initiate actions to prevent occurrence of non-conformance
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process of quality system and recommend or provide solutions through defined channels
  • Ensure field operations comply with HS&E and waste management protocols on all work undertaken

Key Requirements:
 

  • Trade qualification - mechanical or electrical (Traceable references)
  • Current drivers licence, forklift licence, LPG - advantage, Truck License HR. would be an advantage
  • The ability to follow directives given by the Service Supervisors
  • Be able to be on call, work after hours or on a roster system
  • The ability to communicate effectively and clearly with the Customer and Komatsu personnel
  • An excellent understanding and commitment to safety and the environment
  • Ability to analyse trouble-shoot technical problems and recommend solutions for maintenance and/or repair requirements
  • Be energetic and passionate, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Well-developed written, relationship-building, upselling and oral skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of trade servicing and repair standards and procedures, with the ability to read and interpret service and parts manuals
