Financial Controller - Ag

Our client business is growing so they have an amazing opportunity for a new Financial Controller to join their organisation. They offer exceptional customer service to their customers and a friendly and excellent working environment.  The company is a large Agricultural business with its head office based in Devonport with locations across Tasmania.  This role is extremely important to the ongoing growth and success of the business.

Reporting directly to the CEO the purpose of this position is to oversee the daily financial accounting functions of the business and play a key role in the timely delivery of financial results.

You will require the ability to analysis and provide proactive feedback to the management team on improving the business.  You will be responsible for the integrity of the financials and the effective management of financial resources and the maintenance of business processes.

You will have the support of the senior management team and an external consultant to assist.  This is a very diverse role and requires a strong communicated at all levels.

Your main duties for this role will include:

  • Manage and support the administration team
  • Manage all HR responsibilities for the company
  • Payroll Processing and Approval
  • Implement strong accounting procedures
  • Daily and monthly accounting processing
  • Company Compliance
  • Daily and Forecast Cash Flow Management
  • Debtors and Creditors Control
  • Full Balance Sheet and P&L Reconciliations
  • Preparation of annual audited accounts
  • Other duties required by the CEO
  • Manage and support the IT/DMS

To be considered for the position it is essential that you have:

  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience working in a similar role
  • Ability to work with Senior management in understanding financials and departmental processes
  • Training and mentoring
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving capability
